Two cabinet cards of little girls in period clothing Wilmington, DE: A.P. Beecher, Photographer, 1890. not bound. Very Good. These are full-length studio portraits. The little girls (4 or 5 years old) are posed, each resting an arm on a table covered in tapestry cloth, flanked by a drapery. One wears a dress with leg o'mutton sleeves and inset bodice; her blonde hair is done in bangs with a side curl. The other girl wears a sombre dark dress and headpiece; her dark hair is curly and she carries a basket. Quite charming. 6.5" x 4.25". (more information)

Untitled sepiatone photograph, showing 14 young women and three elders in Victorian-era "Sunday best" clothing, at cabin door New York State, 1894. not bound. Very Good. Image is 6" x 8". The pleasant-looking group is posed in front of a cabin with board-and-batten roof and striped curtains used as a door. The date appears on a broadside of "Rules" which is posted on the front of cabin #42. Some of the women wear gold bands on their fingers. 9" x 11". (more information)

Album of original photographs, cover title: SIX MONTHS IN THE LAND OF GOSHEN...on back cover: WINTER OF '95-6 Goshen, NY, 1896. Softcover. Good. Some photographs are fading with age, although details remain. Contains 18 photographs on nine card mounts: most of the photographs are 4.25" x 6.5"; some are smaller. Most are sepiatones; the two at front are bluetones. Subjects include: a man as a child with a straw hat, then later as an adult with a hat, tie, and Maltese Cross; a farmhouse with five folks in meeting clothes outside the front door; a bungalow or one-room schoolhouse; wagon ruts along a stream after a snowfall; three men and three women on the entry porch of a frame house; a frozen stream flanked by trees; a 2-1/2-story farmhouse with attached stable; a winter scene of a barn and long lines of picket fences; nine 1.5" x 2" snapshots of roughhewn timbers, a man with a dog, a horse and open cart, outbuildings, and various people. The cover title is embellished with small sketches of a handbell and a picnic basket. 6.75" x 9.75". (more information)

Group of two cartes de visite and one cabinet card, all by photographers of Lancaster, Pennsylvania Lancaster, PA, 1880. not bound. Very Good. Three photographs, mounted as cabinet cards. One shows two children in period dress, one seated in an elaborate Victorian-era chair, the other standing. The others show a man in suit and bow-tie, and a woman in white collar, earrings, a medal on a chain, and roses at her neck (identified on verso as "Grandma Eshbach"). The kids on the cabinet card are named on the back as "Brother Harry Eshbach" and "Sister Grace Eshbach". The photographers are: Hubley, 45 West King St.; Cummings, No. 6 North Queen St.; and B. WLS NATIONAL BARN DANCE CAST: photograph Chicago: Station WLS, 1944. not bound. Very Good. Framed and glazed. The photograph is dated October 1944, and on the back are facsimile signatures of the dozens of performers, including: Arkie, the Arkansaw Woodchopper; The Sunbonnet Girls; Slim Sloan; Hoosier Hot Shots; Rene Favre; Lavell Carter; and many others. The National Barn Dance, which had debuted on WLS in 1924, performed at state fairs around the midwest during World War II, "when the price of admission was simply rubber or scrap metal to help the war effort. In 1944, Paramount Pictures made a movie about the NBD, featuring a host of the WLS stars," whose signature are reproduced on the back of this photo.
