Page three: three-column letter from John Tyler giving his reasons for withdrawing as a presidential candidate; election results from various states. The naval committee of Congress made available the U.S. frigate Macedonian to transport contributions for the relief of Ireland, while a 445-pound 20-year-old woman with a 72-inch bust is on exhibit in England, and a Rev. J. Doblin of Hull, England launched an Anti-Stay and Corset Society to protect females from the effects of tight lacing.
