Words and music by Jimmie Davis, who also recorded this song. 6pp, in part: "Come sit by my side little darlin', Come lay your cool hand on my brow." Jimmie Davis, born in 1902 to sharecroppers in Louisiana, began singing in church and went on to serve two terms as governor of Louisiana, etc. Davis was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1972, and this is one of his best-known songs. Tipped in at the back are four handwritten stanzas on a sheet of lined paper, titled "The Answer to Nobody's Darlin'." 12" x 9". (more information)
