In scarce grey dustwrapper with colour plate to front. In very good condition with very good dustwrap. (DW small tear to top edge on rear side, small nicks to ends of spine, small tear to top edge on front. some minor soiling marks. In protective sleeve.) Cover with some minor darkening around edges. Minor bumps to corners. No penned inscriptions. Some minor tanning to endpapers. Some mild/moderate foxing spots to pages throughout. Mounted plates all clean and bright. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 103pp. +2pp adverts. Illustrated with 8 tipped-in colour plates on titled mounts, all with tissue guards. And 36 B&W full-page drawings of some famous Sundials by Warrington Hogg. In two parts, the first with text by Lancelot Cross describes the history of Sundials with examples and gives some of the mottoes accompanying them. The second part is a collection of Sundial Mottoes. Beautifully illustrated.
