About This Item
London: Swan Sonnenschein, 1894. Cloth. Good. 9" by 6.5". None. An extensive concordance of the words used in the poems of the popular seventeenth poet John Milton. An alphabetical list of the words used throughout the poems of John Milton. Milton was a poet during the seventeenth century, and is best known for his epic poem written in blank verse 'Paradise Lost'. He was writing during a turbulent time in English history, seeing the falling apart and the restoration of the monarchy. Compiled by John Bradshaw, who was the editor of 'Milton's Poetical Works', 'Gray's Poems', 'An English Anthology', and 'Chesterfield's Letters'. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light fading to the spine. Some minor marks to the boards. Ink inscription, '821', to the tail of the spine. Front hinge is a little strained but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound, though the textblock from the front endpaper to page 16 is working loose and may detach with further handling. Pages are bright and clean, with the odd scattered spot. Good
