Ex-military library with donation and accession stamp on front paste down. Black boards with bright silver lettering on spine. 239 pp. Pictorial paste down and FFFP of Churchill and LTGEN Gavin. The invasion of Sicily was the beginning of the end for Hitler. The assault on Sicily was led mostly by the airborne troops of two nations; the 82nd US and the 1st British. In spite of wind, weather, night conditions, and friendly fire, the Allies forced the Axis troops to withdraw. The author relates the danger, the determination, the bravery, as well as the suffering the chaos and confusion of this operation. A pristine and clean copy in Brodart Mylar. Not a worn out ex-library copy.
