Champs). Belle édition avec les gravures par Edouard Willmann (1820-1877) tirées par F. Chardon (le frontispice est gravé par Ferdinand Delannoy). Ex-dono d'une dame à une autre daté de 1892. Dos un peu passé, rousseurs éparses sur papier blanc, malgré tout un agréable exemplaire relié par Victor Champs. (2,5 kg).

London: Duckworth & Co. 1906. (Hardcover) 272pp. Very good plus. Issued without dust jacket. Dark blue leather with gilt decorations and raised bands to the spine and gilt cover decoration. Marbled edges, marbled endpapers, photographic frontispiece, photographic and illustrated plates, index. There is a previous owner's book plate on the front fixed endpaper and the interior pages are lightly speckled. "This book has grown out of lectures delivered to the Haileybury Natural Science Society. From the nature of the case, therefore, it aims at being intelligible without the help of much preliminary knowledge. A near fine hardcover in bordeaux velvet cloth binding. Première édition 2e tirage 5,000 exemplaires. Bind in bordeaux velvet cloth by previous owner in 2 volumes with blank page between every printed page for notes. Notes on very small amount of pages, former owners name written on title page and printed on spines & sellotape stains on all end pages. Velvet in fine condition as in images.

Embossed in 22kt gold on the spine and front and back covers. Heavy duty binding boards. Printed on acid-neutral, archival paper with gilded edges.
