About the author

Salvatore Calabrese is author of ten bartending books including The Complete Home Bartender's Guide, the world's bestselling bartender book. For more than forty years Calabrese has been an acclaimed bartender, having received numerous awards and distinctions, including Campari Bartender of the Year, Chevalier du Champagne, Chevalier du Cognac, Tales of the Cocktail Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Imbibe Industry Legend Award, among numerous others. Inspired by the great classic cocktails, Salvatore's skills as a mixologist and drink recipe book author soon prompted the name by which he is affectionately known today, "The Maestro" (@cocktailmaestro). His mixology experiments with new liqueurs, old and new spirits, and fresh juices have resulted in exotic cocktails that have become modern classics in their own right. A past president of the UK Bartenders' Guild, he judges bartender competitions, consults for various international brands, and held the Guinness World Record for the World's Most Expensive Cocktail. He lives in London.
