New York: E.P. Dutton and Company, 1917. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. First edition printed in the U.S. (there was a previous first American edition, compiled from British sheets, undated but roughly contemporary with the British first edition (about 1893). Illustrations after paintings and drawings of Alfred Hartley and J. Smit. Small octavo. Green cloth gilt. Modest at the extremities, a very good copy in a good or better example of the rare dustwrapper with the printed price removed from the spine and some other modest chips. Contemporary ownership signature of author Cornelius Weygandt on the titlepage. Weygandt wrote several books, mostly on New Jersey and Pennsylvania history. Important travel book in a rare jacket.
