The exhibition was held from 12 November 1995 to 11 February 1996 in Washington, and 1 March to 2 June 1996 in the Hague. The catalogue includes essays by leading art historians on the work of Vermeer, including Ben Broos, Arthur K.Wheelock, Jr. Jorgen Wadum and Albert Blankert.
