About This Item
Longman, Brown, Green, and Longmans, London, 1855. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Two volumes (complete). From the library of S A Rochlin (the South African trade unionist and Jewish Historian): his signature is on both frontispages (dated: 20: 3: 1950). The books are benign and comfortable. Rare first editions of this independently minded woman's legendary journeys en seule. The green boards are scuffed, worn about the edges, corners, seams from shelving and handling. They are comfortable. The contents of both are most pleasing. They are amiable, clean and clear, generous, tidy, assured, comfortable, companionable. fk.
