About This Item
Viking Press, New York, 1971, 1971. 1st Edition 3rd Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine. Royal octavo, hardcover, VG plus ex library uncirculated copy in near fine white dj. 296 pp. captures "Madame's" unbounded energy and spunk such as her buying carloads of African sculptures or kicking an inatteneive employee in the ankle to make him listen, keeping her competitor's at bay, and dispensing homely advice, particularly on beauty. Rubinstein's propensity for crisis, strife, and inevitably, farce make this irreverent but affectionate biography the purest diversion and just a fun read.
