About the author

Bonnie Bowman Thurston is the author of Philippians and Philemon, Preaching Mark, and Women in the New Testament. She lives in Wheeling, West Virginia. Thomas Merton was a writer and Trappist monk at Our Lady of Gethsemani Abbey in Kentucky.
