Printed by Wiles and Son, ""Trinity Printing Works"", Colchester, 1898, 1st edition. Cream coloured boards, gilt titling and decoration to front board, also crest in red, black and gilt, no dustwrapper. 10ins x 8.75ins, 55pp plus 15pp plates. The families referred to in the title are the De Northwoods, De Valence, De Vere, Mortimer, Fitz Walter and Fitz Barnard families. Endpapers browned, some foxing/ browning to a couple of text pages. Front hinge cracked to top half. Cream boards rather grubby and soiled - spine browned. a G to G+ copy.
