Spines with raised bands, red titles labels, gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Not in Sadleir or Wolff.

Finely bound in period style mid twentieth century full brown calf. Boards with single gilt ruled borders. Spines with double ruled gilt bands and lettering. Gilt inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers with a neat previous owners bookplate mounted in each volume. All edges marbled. An attractive copy.

One of 200 copies, from a total edition of 700 for England and America, on hand made paper and with the plates printed as proofs on Japanese Vellum. Each of these 200 special copies has an original print of the etching "The Lion and the Unicorn" , signed by Cameron, as the frontis and is numbered and initialed by the publishers. The etching was not issued separately. Illustrated throughout with 434 etchings, each with the original measurements, date of the plate, number printed and other general notes by Frank Rinder. Some occasasional light offsetting from the plates to the text pages opposite but generally it is faint where it occurs. Endpapers a bit browned but overall a very good clean and tidy copy in the publishers original delux binding of beige cloth on the boards with a white vellum spine, lettered and ruled in gilt. Finely bound in a beautiful full tan Morocco binding by Bayntun (Riviere) of Bath. Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt decorations. The compartments are lettered, decorated and ruled in gilt. Gilt illustration of a Leprechaun stood next to his crock of gold to the upper board. Both boards with double gilt ruled borders. Marbled endpapers, gilt inner dentelles. Top edge gilt. A fine copy housed in a velvet lined plain clam shell box with blue cloth covering. A fine leather bound copy of this wonderfully illustrated edition.

A very small amout of spoting to the fore edge but overall a clean and bright copy. Finely bound in recent full deep red morocco, spine with raised bands, gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. Top edge gilt. A light stain to the very top of some pages but overall this is a lovely copy in an attractive leather binding.
