About This Item

Sydney, Pymble: HarperCollins, 2003. Paperback octavo, very good condition, few black & white drawings, tiny mark top edge, minor edgewear. 230 pp. A part-memoir, part-survival manual for those dreaming of their own place in the country or by the sea. Ian Parmenter, a TV chef, shares the adventures and misadventures of his journey from a culture-shocked London journalist arriving in Perth in the 70s, to discovering his beloved weekender at Margaret River. Ian includes some recipes that he and partner Anne enjoy. "After planting 1700 Chardonnay cuttings in three days, it took a further three days to recover some movement in our legs. Then we watered the sticks and waited. Within days we had a young vineyard".
