Hawkridge Books – quality books with a quality service. Fine and antiquarian books bought and sold, specialising in natural history, particularly ornithology, but also including books on a wide range of interesting subjects. Hawkridge Books is owned and run by Irene and Joe Tierney; this means that customers are provided with a personal service and given individual attention. We have been in the book business for over 20 years and ran a bookshop in the Peak District village of Castleton for 15 years. The shop was closed in 2010 and we moved our best stock to our home in Broomhill, Sheffield. The current stock runs to some 7,000 volumes. Although we specialise in ornithology, where we have 1100 volumes, and natural history (700 volumes), we have books in all subjects. For example, we have 700 books published by the Folio Society, 400 history books, and a similar number on topography, including 200 books on Derbyshire. All our books are selected to ensure that they are in the best condition and any faults are mentioned.
