Garden City: Doubleday, 1970. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. First American edition. Fine in modestly rubbed, else near fine dust jacket. Inscribed by the author, as well as by her father Conrad Aiken, and her stap-mother (and Conrad's third wife) Mary Hoover: "For Maude with love from Joan, Mary & Conrad 1970. The inscription seems to be all in Joan Aiken's hand, except for the signature of Conrad Aiken. Joan was the daughter of Conrad's first wife, Jessie McDonald.
