About This Item
London: Jennings and Chaplin, 1834. First edition. Royal 8vo, title, 280pp, 6pp adverts. 25 plates. Half green morocco, marbled paper-covered boards, gilt titling and elaborate gilt tooling to spine, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Binding rubbed at edges, plates foxed, front hinge repaired, else a near-VG copy. The plates are printed on India paper and are (presumably) proof impressions, as was usually the case in this series. There are no pages between the title page and page 1; if there was originally a list of the plates, it is now missing.
