London: Philip Lee Warner Medici Society and Jonathan Cape, 1921. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. By the Author. First Edition Thus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. A verygood set of the two volume edition with the inclusion of the introduction by T.E. Lawrence, complete and unabridged. Small loss to head of spine of volume I. It contains all the original fold out plans etc. complete, 623pp. & 690pp. With large fold out maps in the pocket to the rear of Volume 1. Bound in original cloth with gilt decoration to the front boards. This is one of the great books of the English language and this is a handsome edition. This was the first publication after the 1888 edition and the first with the introduction by T.E. Lawrence. This was the copy of George Harry Milsted a director of Duckwoth, Doughty's publisher, with his bookplate to fep. Pasted in to fep a paper with in is a nice clear signature, "Believe me yours truly Charles Doughty".Doughty. O'Brien A013..
