Description

np: NP, 1980. Saddle-stapled digest sized zine. Tipped into cover is a color photo. Light shelfwear. Very good. 32 pp. The two articles are Child Abuse and Therapeutic Brainwashing, and a story reprinted from 1894 by John Bloxam, an associate of Oscar Wilde, called The Priest and the Acolyte. This story runs 12 pages. A prefatory note states that it originally appeared in the December 1894 issue of The Chameleon, published by John Bloxam at Oxford. Bloxam approached Oscar Wilde to write for the magazine, which he did. This small publication was condemned and Lord Queensberry, upset with Wilde's relationship with his son (Alfred Douglas), harassed and pushed Wilde into a foolish lawsuit which resulted in Wilde's arrest. In his trial, the prosecution used this publication to attack Wilde.
