Cloth-backed, small oblong quarto, bevelled wooden covers, with palm tree and camels silhouette to upper board, and decorative marquetry device to lower board; unpaginated, but twelve colour scenes, with eleven facing specimens of pressed flora from Palestine. Spine frayed; binding slack, with archival tape reinforcing to upper hinge; front free endpaper somewhat fishmothed; some foxing. An early souvenir for travellers in Israel. .

Beveled olive wood boards with bordered front illustration in black and green, Jerusalem printed on lower front board; tan leather spine; rose endpapers. 18cm wide, 11cm high. Title illustration page followed by 12 chromolithographs with views of Israel and 12 sheets of pressed flowers with tissue guards. Captions printed in five languages - Hebrew, English, French, German and Italian. Views of: Jerusalem from Mount Olives, The Walling Wall, Mosque of Omar, The Hebrew University on Mont Scopus, The Citadel, Rachels Tomb, Bethlehem, Hebron The Great Mosque, View from MT Carmel to Haifa and the Bay, Tiberias and the Lake and, Safed. Contents have light toning with light ripple to cards; front hinge weakened, light wear to boards. Inscription to paste down dated 1938, Haifa. Overall in very good condition.

Ungewöhnliche Devotionalie: es handelt sich tatsächlich um kleine, eingeklebte, originale Blüten und Zweige von Pflanzen Palästinas, NICHT um Drucke ! Die Legenden sind jeweils auf Deutsch, Kyrillisch und in nicht punktiertem Hebräisch gedruckt - damit wurden wohl die Sprachen der drei Haupteinwanderungs-Gruppen berücksichtigt.
