[viii,] 340, [4] pp. Bound in publisher's original glazed red maroon cloth boards over maroon spine cloth lettered in gilt. Near Fine with slight lean to spine, tiny stain to front free endpaper and paste down, in a Near Fine price-clipped dust jacket, front flap slightly creased. The horror novel that inspired the smash hit 1973 film by William Friedkin, and brought demonic possession and exorcism into the popular mind during the paranormal-obsessed '70s.
Synopsis
The Exorcist is a horror novel written by William Peter Blatty. It is based on a 1949 exorcism Blatty heard about while he was a student in the class of 1950 at Georgetown University, a Jesuit and Catholic school. The exorcism was purportedly performed in Mount Rainier, Maryland.
