All volumes have darkening to the pasteown endpaper edges and some waviness to the pages; vol. I has varying levels of foxing (some heavy) on approx. 40 pages of 'Sir Patrick Spens' historical ballad; most vols. have scattered light foxing of varying sizes on some preliminary pages, frontispiece & tissue, and the title page; vol. IV has a very small bump at the top edge of preliminary pages up to page vii and a 1" light soiling/rub mark on page 65; vol. VIII has some light colour fading on the boards at the hinges - mostly on the rear board; vol. IX has a 2" light split at the bottom of the rear hinge; vol. X has a corner crease on one preliminary page and two small bumps on the bottom of the text block causing small soft creases at the bottom of some pages; vol. XI has some splits in the paper on the front inside hinge. All vols. have light to moderate edge wear/rubbing onthe boards and the odd small corner bump. Some areas of light loss of surface leather on the hinges and spine bands - all hinges and spines have been treated with a museum quality leather treatment. Boards have some light rubbing..
