New York: Atheneum, 1972. Stated First Edition Zilpha Keatley Snyder (1927 - 2014) was the author of nearly 50 books for children and young adults. The Witches of Worm is the third of her books to be named a Newberry Honor Book. 8vo size black clothbound hardcover with dust jacket; 183 pages with some full page black and white illustrations. From dust jacket: "Was Worm a witch's cat? Did a witch control him, or maybe even a devil? Was Mrs. Fortune, the strange old lady downstairs, responsible or the awful things Worm did? Or was it someone else, someone Jessica didn't even know? Finding out what made Worm the cat he was, was indeed the answer to Jessica's problems. But it was not the answer she expected or wanted." Ex-library with typical treatments. Jacket is covered with mylar. Jacket spine is lightly sunned. We noted one creased page corner, some handling wear and light soil or fingermarks in the margins of pages 11, 12, 52-54, 57-60, 113 and 114. . First. Cloth. Good/Good.
