About This Item
Portland, OR: Graphic Arts Center Publishing Co., 1985. Folio size gray clothbound coffee table book with dust jacket; 160 heavyweight, glossy pages with full color, mostly full-page photographs, some two-page spreads. From jacket: "The Southeast Coast sweeps from Assateague Island and the Maryland-Virginia border to Cumberland Island, Georgia. Between these two points lies a beautiful, often wild, sometimes developed shoreline of outer banks, bays, beaches, sounds, harbors, and sea islands. It is a place for salt water marshes, wildlife refuges, and abundant marine life... On remote Assateague Island roam wild ponies... Photographs include young egrets on remote Wassaw Island's National Wildlife Refuge and a brown pelican atop its nest at Cape Romaine National Wildlife Refuge... Here too are the grace and beauty of traditional homes reflected in Colonial Lake, located in Charleston's 300-year-old historic section. Savannah's charm is exemplified in the 1841 Sorrel-Weed House... Together the words and images form a special journey through this picturesque land of salt marshes, barrier island, and day. The Southeast Coast is a celebration of sand and sea for all who set foot upon the shoes of this magical island." There is some soil and foxing to the blank underside of the dust jacket, some very light soil on the blank back of the dust jacket and some edgewear and light wear to the top of jacket. There are three tiny spots on top of book. The last two pages 159/160 appear to have some light foxing as does the blank reverse of frontisphoto. No extra shipping charges if sent via US Media Mail.
