These silkscreens are identical, except for not being individually signed, to the very few portfolios of 8 prints currently selling for upwards of fifty thousand dollars. According to the publisher, anywhere from 17 to 21 screens were required to bring out the coloring of each illustration, making a total of 144 separate stencils, all of which were destroyed after the strictly limited number of some 400 original sets of prints had been achieved on the fine Whatman paper specified by the Osiris Printing Studio in New York. For her favorite poem, originally published in I SHALL NOT BE MOVED, Angelou chose the internationally acclaimed African-American printmaker John Biggers to illustrate a book published by the Limited Editions Club in an edition of only 400 numbered copies signed by both the author and the artist. It was one of the largest-format books (17-3/4" x 22") ever issued by the club. This is the separate portfolio of 5 numbered 18" x 24" lithographs, all individually SIGNED by the artist, laid in a large cloth clamshell box with the artist's name lettered in black on the front. This is set #58 of only 60 sets in addition to about a dozen various proof copies.
