Strong, whose "The Sacred River: An Approach to James Joyce" was dedicated to Turner. Very Good, lacking the dust wrapper, the paper covered boards with rubs and tears along fore edges. The 12 portraits feature Albert Einstein, T. S. Eliot, George Bernard Shaw, Walter De La Mare and John Galsworthy among other contemporary notables. Contains limitation page and six poems, each poem printed on 1 folded sheet measuring 60 x 20 cm.; the poems with title page and colophon lie loose in box. With added 7th poem, an additional copy of Flower Garden Poem, with handwritten letter in ink from Linda Samson-Talleur, to bookseller Gary Steigerwald -" Dear Gary, At last - your book. It had to take this long - because Jennie Frederick & I wanted it to be EXCELLENT. The colophon - intro page was a development I hadn't planned on - as was the 5 color livo for cover." She goes on to talk about the pricing of the book and ends "Thanks for support in the beginning - when it was so badly needed. LST". The paper was hand made by Jenni Frederick of Kansas City Paperworks. From the estate of my great-great grandfather.Includes many unique poems and recitations such as "To a skull", "Uncle Daniel's Introduction to a Mississippi Steamer", "The Leak in the Dyke", etc. More well-known poetry includes "Song of Birds", "Old Ironsides", and "Bannock Burn" by Robbie Burns. Light rubbing and bumps to outside spine edges. Back cover and interior cloth covered board has a stain at top. Original owner's name and address from 1908, but no other writing or marks. First 2 pages have a stain at top, but text of 192 pages of poetry and recitations is totally clean with light tanning of pages.
