A rare opportunity to acquire an original pen and ink illustration by Geoffrey Whittam (who illustrated most of the books published by Monica Edwards), for the double-page 94-95, image measuring 17" x 9.3" (42.5 x 23.5cms) on two pieces of (joined) art paper. The picture itself is not signed, but on the verso is a stamped label for R P Gossop Ltd - Artists' Agents with GEOFFREY WHITTAM written above in biro. A generously-sized original demonstrating the artist's superb skill.

The largest image is 7"x6.5" (17.8x16.5cms), the smallest 2.5"x3.5" (6.5x8cms). Janina Ede was born in 1937 and did much of her illustration work for Puffin.
