About This Item
London : Hutchinson , 1964. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. First edition first printing. Hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards sharp and clean, title gilt perfect. Text block clean, with light toning to edges. The pages are on the whole crisp and unblemished, except for a few pages that have the odd mark or spot. Paste downs and FEPs has a touch of offset toning and the title page has a couple of very feint spots. Feels gently read. Minor bump to head and foot of spine, very good condition. Jacket some minor rubs to the top edge and light handling marks to the gloss. Some minor losses and chips to the spine ends, there is a 25mm closed tear at rear joint, however in the archival fitted cover the jacket looks very presentable. Overall a very good copy. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A very good example of this extremely scarce first edition first printing children's title. Written and charmingly illustrated by Hungarian artist Veronika Marek, who wrote and illustrated the Boribon and Annipani adventures and the Kippkopp stories. Originally Issued in Hungary in 1962, this is the 1964 first English edition published by Hutchinson. A very scarce title and one for the collectors.
