Probably the least well-known of the original Ferus Gallery artists, respect for both Altoon's abstract and figurative art, including the work with sexual imagery, has continued to grow since his death in 1969. First Printing, First Edition. Oversize (8 3/4 x 10 3/4 inches), 136 pages,with some 68 full color reproductions of Altoon's work and including contributions by Paul McCarthy, Monica Majoli, Laura Owens, Monique Prieto and Barbara T. Smith, as well as an index, a list of works in the exhibition, and notes. Issued without a dustjacket, the covers reproduce in full color ink and pastel works from 1965 (Untitled, detail) and 1962-63 (Untitled: Paris, Dior Evenings).
