About This Item
New York: Delacorte Press, 1969. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. This is the third novel in Longstreet's Pedlock family trilogy ("The Pedlocks" and "Pedlock and Sons ") and deals with the history of an American branch of this great Jewish family and its conflicts between generations, between religious hypocrisy and commitment. First edition as stated, no indication of printing. About 5 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches, 469 pages in black cloth-covered boards with red and gold printing and graphics on spine and red pastedowns. Graphic design on front panel of dustjacket shows title in red and black letters with author in black letters against light tan/cream background. Back panel contains short description stating "Pedlock Saint, Pedlock Sinner" is "not a sequel to the earlier works." Other than a touch of wear and soiling to text block edges, boards and text are complete, clean and unmarked. Not ex-library, not remaindered. No noticeable damage or flaws. The dustjacket's spine is slightly age-darkened with a slight bit of soiling on front & back panels. O/w, jacket is whole, with no tears, chipping, scratching or creasing. Not price-clipped. A very collectable copy of Longstreet's work in words, remembering he was also a recognized artist, especially for his paintings of the American jazz world.
