About This Item

Boston: Little Brown & Co.. Hardcover. Very Good/About Very Good. An Ellery Queen omnibus containing the three mysteries set in the fictional New England town of Wrightsville ("Calamity Town," "The Murderer Is A Fox" and "Ten Days Wonder"). These three novels represent a change in the Queen character from the NYC genius solving his police detective's father's hardest cases and the Hollywood screenwriter sophisticate to someone able show empathy and take a personal interest in the persons in the cases he's investigating. Ffirst Edition, Book Club printing. About 5 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches, 575 pages bound in yellow cloth-covered boards with black lettering on spine. Dustjacket's front panel shows part of story torn from newspaper page against black background with lettering in yellow, red and white. Back panel "Introducing Mr. Ellery Queen" outlines the phenomenal success of Queen mystery enterprise from novels to magazines to movies to television. Boards and text are complete, clean and unmarked, showing only minimal soiling and minor wear at edges, corners and spine ends. Top text edge stained yellow. Dustjacket shows only a one-inch closed tear at bottom of spine, o/w moderate edge wear with almost no damage to dj's pictorial design and graphics. A very decent addition to anyone's Queen collection. [The size and weight of this book may require additional postage on priority/express orders and orders from outside the U.S.]
