About This Item
New York: Random House, 1988. First Edition. . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. Bond is much better known for his books for children, especially his Paddington Bear series, but as a change of pace, perhaps, he is also the author of an adult mystery series featuring Aristide Pamplemousse, premier undercover operative for "Le Guide," France's prestigious restaurant rating guide. In this, the fourth book in the series, Pamplemousse, under orders from his boss to lose weight or else, begins an investigation of the exclusive Chateau Morgue health spa with help from his dog, Pommes Frites, and immediately finds himself up to his palate in unexplained fatalities, orgies, blackmail and worse. First Printing, First U.S. Edition. A very slight spine lean, o/w boards and text are clean and unmarked, binding is tight, book is not remaindered. The dust jacket shows just a touch of surface and edge wear, no tears, no creasing or chipping, not price-clipped. A collectable copy.
