The third novel in Lehane's historical mystery-thriller series featuring Joe Coughlin, a Boston mobster who became a crime boss in Tampa, Florida, in the 1930s, then lost everything including his wife in a Mob turf war at the end of Prohibition, and is now serving as a consigliere in Ybor City, a negotiator for organized crime as it expands its reach to Cuba during World War II, where Joe is valued for his relationship with Cuban dictator Batista. But someone wants Joe dead and he has only days to learn who and why. First Printing, First Edition (stated, with complete number line). Lettering on front and spine in blue and white. The half-jacket dj protects lower half of book, covering most of the pictorial design but displaying author's name in green and yellow lettering echoing the white lettering on the front cover.
