The catalogue for a 2004-05 exhibition of art work by American artist Milton Avery, including oils, watercolors and sketches from the 1920s to the 1960s of the Atlantic seacoast and the Atlantic ocean. First edition, first printing, About 10 x 9 1/2 inches, 47 pages on glossy paper in heavy card wrappers illustrated with a detail from "Choppy Sea," (oil on canvas, 1956). Includes "The Philosophical Poetry of Milton Avery's Seascapes" by Arthur Danto. Wrappers and text are clean, complete and unmarked, without noticeable flaws or significant damage of any kind. Avery, working in the shadow of the abstract expressionists, has only gradually begun to receive the recognition he deserves.
