The 34th of suspense-thriller mastercraftsman Leonard's forty-some novels features Deputy U.S. Marshall Karen Sisco and celebrity convict Jack Foley, who meet during a prison break in Florida. Sisco becomes part of the ensuing manhunt for Foley, who is planning a major robbery in Detroit, and both race toward a reunion that makes suspense-writing history. First printing, first edition (with complete numberline). About 6 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches, 296 pages in light-cream paper-covered boards with black backstrip and gold lettering on spine. Dustjacket's front panel features author and title in gold lettering above and below a stylized graphic of a woman with long gun, all against a red and blue background. Back panel has full-panel, color photo of Leonard. Boards and text are clean, complete and unmarked. No noticeable flaws or damage. Dustjacket shows very minimal surface and edgewear. No creasing, chipping or bumping. Not price-clipped. A collectable copy. (About 30 of Leonard's novels and short stories have been adaped for movies or television. Leonard died in 2013.
