This small booklet in plain brown wrappers, published by the Pinkham Medicine Co. between 1900 and 1910, notes, "This little book treats of delicate subjects, and has been sent to you only by request. It is not intended for indiscriminate reading, but for your own private information." It then discusses a variety of women's health issues, including menstruation, motherhood, "diseases of the female organs," hysteria and melancholy, always with a mention of how Pinkham's Vegetable Compound or Herb Medicine or Liniment or Suppositories may be helpful. 4 1/2 x 6", 63 pages with a frontispiece photo of Lydia Pinkham. A postcard in case a friend may want a copy, is laid in. This copy,apparently due to a binding error, has two front covers. The text is clean and unmarked though showing some age-toning. Pages 42 and 43, where the postcard was laid in, are quite darkly tanned. A bit of soiling to the covers, o/w no significant tears, creases or chipping to covers or text. Collectable.
