About This Item

New York: Bantam Books, 1974. First Edition Thus. . Mass Market Paperback. Very Good to Near Fine. Vintage Paperback. Bantam 07789: This collection of science fiction short stories was pulled together in the early 1970s, when the extent to which mankind was mistreating the environment was just becoming generally known. Well-known sci-fi writers including Andre Norton, Robert Silverberg, A.E. van Vogt, and Poul Anderson demonstrated the damage done and predicted possible future ecological devastation. A half-century later it is frightening to read what they wrote in light of what we know today. First Printing, First Paperback Edition. Mass market paperback, 236 pages in pictorial wrappers with an introduction by Science Fiction master Frank Herbert. Wrappers show only very minimal edge and surface wear and light reading crease. A remainder mark on the bottom edge of the text, o/w text and wrappers are clean, unmarked and complete. No tears, no chipping. A Collectable Copy.
