About This Item
New York: William Morrow & Co., 1963. First Printing, First U.S. Edition. . Hardcover. About Very Good/Good Plus. This Australian journalist's second novel will have the flavor of a modern western for American readers. Set in the Australian outback, it features Dick Maitland, an American geologist prospecting for oil, who runs head-on into a cattle rancher playing dictator. A previous owner's ink-stamped name on the front end page; a small stain on the lower corner of the back cover, o/w boards and text are clean and unmarked, square and reasonably tight. The dustjacket shows a stain on the back panel corresponding to the one on the cover; there's a fair amount of wear at the spine ends and edges as well as some surface wear. That said, the dj is close to 100% whole and missing nothing significant.
