About This Item
New York: New American Library, 1965. First Printing, First Paperback Edition. . Mass Market Paperback. Very Good to Near Fine. Vintage Paperback, Signet D2643; the first of Spillane's Tiger Mann spy thriller series, which represents a comeback attempt of sorts after he ended the run of his earlier bestselling Mike Hammer private detective mystery series. It would have been difficult to match that earlier success and this time Tiger Mann was late onto the field against a host of international agents including 007; still, for those who like the straight-ahead, blood and guts style Spillane is known for, Tiger Mann can fill the bill; text is clean, tight, lightly age-tanned with a very slight spine lean; pictorial wrappers show minor surface and edgewear but no tears or significant chipping. Collectable.
