USA The Story of Velvet Eyes. The box is in good condition, the lid has two tears on the right and bottom side, the bottom of the box has two broken corners.
The paperback book is in very good condition, bright colors and has all the toys and stickers. I see no publisher date but probably from the 1940's or 1950's. This is a nice one. 1. Velvet Eyes fur still attached, gold star attached to the forehead of the reindeer.
2. Unused and unpunched game pieces inside the front pocket with instructions. Stickers un punched and also in the front pocket.
3. Two pop ups in very good condition. The xmas tree pop up has a perferated middle that has halfway come loose. I have added another xmas tree in two sections with attached stickers. Would rate the xmas tree as good.
4. Jingle Bell attached to curtain, still jingles.
5. Has attached Flute.
6. Has the Mirror
7. Has the game on the back cover.

The colors are bright and the story complete, nice to find a copy of this extremely scarce title.

Quarto, 20 pages, black plastic comb binding - it lays flat to exhibit the three pop-ups, the titles are made of black velvet paper; this has its rare original box ( lightly rubbed at the edges, corners intact ). NOTE: WorldCat cites no copy of this. Little Velvet Eyes, a reindeer, thinks he is no help to anyone in Christmas Village until he does something that brightens everyone's Christmas. Velvet Eyes receives the award as Santa's Little Helper. This was meant to be an activity book for the children. The front pocket has the intact sheet of game pieces, and the intact14 stickers, with the sheet of game rules. Page 4 had the attached jingle bell (missing its jingle) Page 6 has its attached tin flute..Page 9 has its 'mirror'. The rear cover and the top cover have the golden awards. This would be an excellent gift - but not to a child - only to one who is young at heart and remembers Christmases…
