Moderate to heavy chipping along the extremities, with some associated creasing and a few minor tears. Interior solid, with a brown stain affecting the top right corners of the pages.

Heavy browning to the front cover with some faded spotting, some soiling and other minor wear. Extremities with some minor tears and scuffs. Front cover detached along the upper half of its hinge. General fading to the pages with a few very minor tears in the fore edge margins of the pages.

Sheridan was a key person in the development of the original Fortran compiler, writing a section that parsed algebraic expressions into code, which would help in the evolution and development of the computer.
