Single fold pamphlet advertising a newly built sanitarium called Glencroe, in the small town of West Tisbury located on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. The proprietor, Dr. D. A. Cleaveland, of the sanitarium starts by praising the weather, which apparently in winter is only "five degrees colder than Old Point Comfort, VA", and then continues on to state the numerous diseases which are not a problem for the islands residents. "Diphtheria is unknown in this part of the island. Malignant Scarlatina, typhoid fever, cholera infantum, or any inflammatory intestinal disease, together with phthisis, are rarely met with..." Farmington, NH, 1856 - 1864. A copy book used to by Jonathan D. Roberts to keep an accounting of his guardianship of Timothy Stevens from 1856 - 1864. On the first page is a note that states Roberts was appointed Stevens guardian on February 5, 1856 and that this fact was advertised in the Dover Gazette on the first Tuesday in February. Next is an inventory of the Estate of Timonth Stevens valued at $1,011.37. What follows is a list of expenses incurred by Roberts, such as the cost of board, travel to the probate court, the cost of his services and a list of different bills paid out. The front cover has an engraving of a monument that states "To Washington". The back cover has a multiplication table on it as well as the note "Always for sale, a general assortment of Blank, School, and Miscellaneous Books..." There is no mention of a publisher. The purpose of the political march was for the people of New York, including the Jewish people of New York to show their support for the Jews in the Soviet Union who were facing a variety of human rights abuses at the time. The poster was designed by Paul Davis and shows an image of an older Jewish woman wearing a red head scarf. Above the portrait is the quote, "Take my picture. Show my face. The novel also has an autobiographical memoir of the author, and a life of Alexander Selkirk, to whose residence on the island Juan Fernandez inspired the novel. There are over 40 wonderfully rich and detailed full and half sheet black and white illustrations are found throughout the 528 page novel. Measures 10" x 7" Edge wear to the covers as well as minor stains. The front cover is partially detached. The cloth binding is slightly worn and there is a very minor tear on the backstrip. Binding is loose, but intact. The interior pages are toned due to age. There is a previous owner's inscription on the front inside cover.
