The second issue of Potlikker (as it was spelled in this issue’s opening “A Message to the People” by Akau Kamau), a journal of creative expression, focusing on Black poetry written by young, gifted, Black poets of Atlanta who explore “the major and minor problems confronting Black/Afrikan people today.” The opening poem, “Words,” by Akua, is dedicated to “Sister Toni Cade Bambara,” who was an artist-in-residence at the Neighborhood Arts Center in the 1970s. Dooley (d. 2006) was an activist and poet who came to Atlanta to run two Black bookstores in Atlanta in 1969 and who published Revolution: A Poem with Third World Press in 1968.No copies in commerce and only 2 holdings per OCLC (Emory, Texas A&M).
