'Victor Hugo and Emile Girardin trying to raise Prince Louis on a shield... a somewhat shaky affair.'Depcits Hugo and Girardin supporting the election of Prince Louis to the Legislative. This way Hugo facilitated the upcoming seizure of power and proclamation of Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte as president on December 10, 1848.
