Both issues come with loose, folded single-sheet inserts entitled Stop Press. The 1947 insert details a competition devised, and to be judged, by Ian Fleming. The 1948 insert has adjudication. The first insert precedes Flemings December 1947 Horizon piece. Fine and very rare as a set together.

London: Pan. Paperback (14th Printing). This is the very rare Promotional Copy for Players Cigarettes which includes a (blue) printed letter written by Domino to James Bond which mentions Players cigarettes. The book is VG and the letter is fine. Quite a scarce piece of Bondiana.

Here is a rare find. Written as a tribute to Ian Fleming and Antony Terry, it contains details of many letters written between Ian Fleming [the creator of James Bond) and his friend and associate in journalism Antony Terry. Terry it is said provided many hints and information to Fleming from his stationing in Europe during the post-war years. This significant book was put together, from actual letters, by Terry's stepdaughter [Judith Lenart ]. This is as new and extremely rare. Volume 1 is a fine copy in a near fine D/W (priced 10s 6d net to the inside flap) and is SIGNED BY JOHN BURNINGHAM ON THE PAGE ADJACENT TO THE TITLE PAGE. Volume 2 has a neat gift inscription on the page adjacent to the title page but is otherwise a near fine copy in a VG D/W (priced 10s 6d net to the inside flap). The D/W has a strip of tape residue at the bottom right hand corner of the front panel caused by a tape repair on the verso of the D/W that now shows through to the front. Volume 2 is SIGNED BY JOHN BURNINGHAM ON THE TITLE PAGE. Volume 3 is a VG+ copy in like D/W with a 5 mm closed tear to the bottom edge of the rear panel and is SIGNED BY JOHN BURNINGHAM ON THE HALF-TITLE PAGE. This is a near fine un-read copy with toned pages due to the poor quality of paper used with a tiny, closed tear on the first page and faint evidence of a former price in pencil rubbed out. This copy has the exceedingly rare "Movie Tie-In" promotional dust wrapper. The D/W is clean and bright with a little (4mm at its deepest) paper loss at the top of the spine, a few minor creases and nicks and a date (1964 12) in either a dark pencil or a biro on the front. Unusually the joints (which are usually worn) have no wear whatsoever and scarce thus. All-in-all a near fine copy of this fragile item. Pages toned due to the poor quality of paper used and there is a tiny split in the paper at the bottom right hand corner of the spine. The spine has a couple of faint reading creases. A very good (or slightly better) copy of the second Pan printing. Cover art featuring a 'blonde' James Bond by Roger Hall, price printed 2/- in the UK to the bottom right hand corner of the front cover. No inscriptions. Photographs/scans available upon request.

London: Cape, 1965. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. VARIANT WITH WHITE END-PAPERS. First Edition. This is the very rare variant with white end-papers that were used by the printers when the green and white patterned end-papers ran out (Gilbert 2012). One of just 3,024 copies of this issue, bound with plain end-papers. The book is a solid near fine example with a bump to the bottom right hand corner of the front board. There is a hint of spotting to the top edge. Head and tale of spine very slightly pushed (but hardly worth mentioning). In the original un-clipped VG+ D/W with the price of 18s net to the front flap. A bright example, with some miniscule rubbing and the slightest of surface loss to the spine tips. One small tear at foot of joint to front flap. A hint of toning to spine, with some light spotting. All-in-All a nice copy of a Rare Variant.

1960. (Esquire Magazine November 1960). Includes the true first and only appearance of the Ian Fleming article The Russians Make Mistakes Too which was written shortly after the US lost the B2 spy plane over Russia. Fleming commented in this article that the Russians had made similar mistakes in the espionage community. This article was never published in the UK nor was it ever reprinted in book form. A superb auction catalogue (102 pages long) featuring collections of toys, games and souvenirs, autographs, props, costumes, posters and merchandising assembled by, inter alia, "A Private British Collector"; Dave Worrall, a self-confessed James Bond fanatic and one of Britain's most prolific experts on James Bond memorabilia; Graham Rye (President of the James Bond International Fan Club and Archive); and Daryl Burchmore who collected James Bond memorabilia for over 20 years. London: Pan, 1965. (London: Pan Books Ltd 14th Printing (reset) 1965) WITH THE SCARCE DOMINO LETTER. A near fine copy (with a crease to the front cover) whereas the Domino Letter in fine condition. Promotional copy for Player's Cigarettes, with Domino letter included. This is the correct (14th) printing used for this promotion which includes a printed note purportedly handwritten by Domino to James Bond. The first issue status of the printed note is proven by the presence of a watermark which can be clearly seen when the letter is placed up to the light. The letter mentions Player's Cigarettes, asking Bond to read pages 152 -155 in the accompanying book, unashamedly mentioning Player's Cigarettes. The letter measures 227mm × 149 mm and is folded twice (as called for). A very attractive copy of a scarce piece of Bondiana. Photographs/scans available upon request.
