A crisp, clean and unmarked copy, pages fresh and fine. Bound in red leatherette hardcover with blind embossing and gilt stamping on front. Cover is clean, lightly edge worn with small bump to lower front corner. The leatherette has some cracks along the rear hinge and there is a small bump and a tear to the material near middle of spine. Binding and hinges are intact, though a bit creaky. Very Good copy of this scarce book - 316 pages of stories with reproductions of line engravings on almost every page - many full page illustrations, Book is clean, the only marking a penciled gift inscription dated Christmas 1887. Hardcover binding. Boards covered in color and gilt printed paper; cloth spine strip. Cover is exceptionally clean and well-preserved. There are some light scratches to artwork on front cover but otherwise it is fine. Boards are lightly edge worn; corners rubbed with board showing. Cloth spine is intact. Binding is tender but intact. Front endpaper is starting to separate at hinge and rear endpaper is cracked along hinge but the underlying cloth remains intact. New York: Club House, 1932 1932. The History, Constitution, By-laws, Rules and List of Officers and Members. The Club, organized in 1885 had numerous homes in New York City. In 1925 the Club moved to 30 West 44th, the site occupied when this book was published. (It is now home to The Penn Club.) Of particular interest are the five line illustrations of the building. This is a Very Good copy, clean and bright. Bound in hardcover of navy and gray cloth with gilt stamping front and spine. There is some scattered light spotting to the cover, very light soiling along the gray cloth spine but otherwise the cover is bright and clean. Text pages are clean and fine but penciled onto the last blank page is a home-made crossword puzzle! Very erasable if you don't want it. Binding is tight and square. 5-/14 x 7-3/4"; 105 pages. . Denver, CO: Patients of the Sanatorium of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society Volume III, No. 5 - Volume IV, No. 11. 19 issues from May 1925 through Nov. 1926 in hardcover binding. The Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society, founded by a group of twenty Eastern European Jewish immigrants, many themselves suffering from TB, in 1905 opened a non-sectarian sanatorium for the treatment of tuberculosis in Denver, Colorado. The institution was able to cater to the Orthodox Jewish community - allowing patients to observe the laws of kashruth and Jewish rituals and holidays. Continuing its original mission for 50 years, the sanatorium began with only six frame and canvas tents, and one brick building. It developed into a nationally prominent 105-acre campus, offering wards for bed-ridden patients, with 34 buildings.
