A fantastic copy of this important Oz title. Very scarce first state book and dust jacket: spine vignette of a boy's face; with $1.50 price on the dj front flap; Oz stylized device stamped in black on spine with the "Z" in OZ within the "O;" bound in "16-page gatherings" (vs. 32-page gatherings); and with the letter from Bucky of Oz addressed to "Boys and Girls" encouraging the purchase of war bonds on the rear dj flap. Internal content fine. Near fine in publisher's original red cloth boards with full color pastedown; with a bit of wear along spine hear and top edge.
