Description:
1720 ALIENS Prodigies Superstition Astrology UFOs! Wonders ROME Julius Obsequens
Julius Obsequens was a 5th-century Roman author who is primarily known for his book of Prodigies, or 'Prodigiorum Liber'. This book is a collection of writings on natural wonders, signs, and calamities that occurred during the 3rd century BC in the Roman Republic. Curiously, much of what Obsequens observed was already recorded by Livy and thus wasn't taken as seriously. However, the work is still popular today for its discussion on superstitions and instances of numerous astrological signs – even reports of ancient aliens and UFOs!
This 1720 edition was published in Leiden by Samuel Luchtmans.

Description:
1820 Napoleonic Wars 1ed Saxony Campaign 1813 Battle Leipzig Napoleon ODELEBEN
Baron Otto Freiherr von Odeleben's "A Circumstantial Narrative of the Campaign in Saxony, in the Year 1813" is a comprehensive account of the historical military campaign in 1813 Saxony during the Napoleonic Wars. The book was initially penned in German and later translated by Alfred John Kempe. The narrative sheds light on various events, including the political turmoil involving Frederick Augustus (king of Saxony), invasion of Russian territories in 1812, the Battle of Lützen, the Battle of Leipzig, and Napoleon's final retreat upon Erfurt. Odeleben's account explains how despite Napoleon's initial power and opportunities for victory, the contingencies of troop numbers, material resources, alliances, and strategic decisions led to his defeat in 1813.

1863 Common Prayer Renaissance BIBLE Woodcuts Queen Elizabeth Bizarre Skeletons!!

An absolutely beautiful printing of the Book of Common Prayer from the Church of England. While editions of the Book of Common Prayer were printed for centuries before and after this edition, this printing is of particular value because of the impressive illustrations and illustrated borders.

1766 ENORMOUS Bible Common Prayer Church of England Psalms Oxford Mark Baskett

In 1712, John Baskett began printing the Book of Common Prayer, shortly after the success of the 1710 New Testament. Baskett was the printer to the king during the first half of the 18th-century. This 1766 edition was curiously published by Mark Baskett, John's grandson. However, it is known that many Baskett Bibles and other works were published with the name 'Mark' on the title page to prevent various forms of prosecution, noted by Isaiah Thomas.

This particular folio issue contains not only Common Prayer, but also the Psalms, and "Constitutions and Canons Ecclesiastical". Note the impressive frontispiece of St. Paul's Cathedral in London.
